Waikato Regional Hazards Portal - Terms of use

By using the Waikato Regional Hazards Portal, you are agreeing to the following Terms of Use along with the Spatial Information Terms of Use.

Limitations

The hazard data is based on existing research, modelling and observations and some maps have been compiled from legacy data sets. Not all areas of the Waikato Region have been covered to the same extent or depth of detail, depending on available information. Hazards might therefore be present in areas not currently mapped within the Portal. In addition, some areas mapped as being subject to a hazard may not be subject to this hazard, particularly if the data is at a “Regional scale” or “General information” information level only (i.e. intended as a heads up to indicate where further investigation may be needed).

We recommend obtaining expert advice to help with interpreting this information for risk assessment purposes. Please note that the Portal does not replace a Land Information Memorandum (LIM), which can be requested from your District/City Council.
