Monitoring your activity

Waikato Regional Council monitors the exercise of resource consents in order to determine compliance with the conditions of the consent. This is undertaken on a users pay basis.

Some consents, especially for large-scale or complex activities, require the consent holder to monitor the activity themselves and forward the results of that monitoring to Waikato Regional Council.

You may be required to carry out tests or measurements as part of a monitoring programme or management plan, and Waikato Regional Council staff may also carry out independent monitoring of the site activities. Waikato Regional Council prioritises its monitoring on a risk basis - consent holders whose activities are deemed to be high risk should expect to be monitored more frequently than thouse that are low risk.

You are encouraged to contact Waikato Regional Council if you have any queries or require clarification as to the obligations under your resource consent.
