Waikato Regional Council advises that under Resource Consent 124871 spraying of pest plants growing in aquatic and semi-aquatic locations will continue over the next three months.
Public notice of intention to sell abandoned land - Scotsman Valley Rd, Tauwhare

TAKE NOTICE that Waikato Regional Council intends to exercise its statutory powers under s77 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 to apply to the District Court at Hamilton not sooner than one month after the date of this notice for orders:
1. Declaring the land at Scotsman Valley Road, Tauwhare contained in Record of Title SA46D/572, South Auckland (Land) to be abandoned; and
2. Authorising the Council to sell or lease the Land.
The Record of Title shows the registered proprietor of the Land is BROOKBANK PROPERTIES LIMITED which was removed from the Companies Register on 28 October 2020.

Public notice of herbicide use on Waikato riverbank - Powerhouse Rd, Arapuni

Waikato Regional Council advises that herbicide may be used on public and coastal reserves throughout the Waikato region from 13 April 2026 and 30 April 2026 for the control of pest plants around the Waikato riverbank on Powerhouse Road, Arapuni.
Regional Pest Management Plan and include (but are not limited to) Wild kiwifruit.
Public notice of aerial herbicide spraying between 5 March and 24 April 2026 - Te Otamanui Lagoon area

Waikato Regional Council advises that spraying of pest plants growing in aquatic and semi-aquatic locations will occur in the Te Otamanui Lagoon area, between 5 March 2026 and 24 April 2026.
Application will be by helicopter, and pest. Pest plants to be sprayed include (but are not limited to) alligator weed.

Public notice of aerial herbicide spraying between 7 January 2026 and 1 May 2026

Waikato Regional Council advises that spraying of pest plants growing in aquatic and semi-aquatic locations will occur between 7 January 2026 and 1 May 2026. Application will be by helicopter. Pest plants include (but are not limited to) alligator weed, yellow flag iris and Senegal tea.
The area of operation is:
- the Waikato River Delta from Port Waikato to Tuakau bridge
- Whangamarino Wetland and Maramarua River
- Lake Whangape and Whangape Stream
- Opuatia Wetland
- Waikato River and islands – Whangape Stream to Ohinewai
- Kimihia Wetland.
Public notice of decisions on submissions on the Proposed Waikato Regional Coastal Plan

Pursuant to Clauses 10 and 11 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991, Waikato Regional Council (Council) gives notice on 14 October 2025 that it has made a decision on provisions and matters raised in submissions on the Proposed Waikato Regional Coastal Plan (proposed plan).
At a Council meeting on 25 September 2025, the Council adopted the recommendations made by the Hearing Panel set out in the Hearing Panel Recommendation Report dated 29 August 2025 as the Council’s decision on the proposed plan (decision).
Public notice of herbicide use on public and coastal reserves (Coastcare)

Waikato Regional Council advises that herbicide may be used on public and coastal reserves throughout the Waikato region from now until July 2026 for the control of exotic weeds as part of the Coastcare restoration programme.
This includes (but is not limited to) the Port Waikato, Raglan, Ruapuke, Aotea, Kāwhia, Kiritehere, and Mokau areas.
Notice of Waikato region rating information database – available for public inspection

Pursuant to Section 28 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002, Waikato Regional Council gives notice that the Waikato region’s rating information database (RID) is available for public inspection at the council, 160 Ward Street, Hamilton, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
The RID contains information required by the council for setting and assessing rates on each rating unit within the Waikato region. The owner’s names and postal addresses of properties are available for inspection on the RID unless the council has received a request in writing for withholding the owner’s names or postal addresses or both from the RID. All requests made for the withholding of names and/or postal addresses must be in writing. Please either:
