Committee responsibilities
The Committee is responsible for the following functions, excluding matters that fall within the specific responsibilities of other committees:
- Setting Council’s strategic direction and policy approach
- Identifying regional issues requiring Council intervention
- Establishing Council’s advocacy positions on regional matters
- Responding to statutory planning processes led by external agencies
- Providing leadership on issues of regional significance
- Setting strategic priorities to guide organisational direction and policy development
