Committee responsibilities

This Committee is responsible for:

• Setting objectives, priorities, and levels of service for the operation, maintenance and renewal of flood protection and land drainage infrastructure through the Regional Asset Management Plan and Land Drainage Management Plan.
• Setting visions, goals and actions for catchment and river restoration work programmes (through zone and catchment plans) and providing a strategic framework for community-led partnership opportunities.
• Overseeing and monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the following activities undertaken by Council against agreed strategies and plans:
  • Flood protection
  • Land drainage
  • River management
  • Catchment planning and management
  • Biodiversity
  • Biosecurity
  • Resilient development
  • Emergency management
