Tracking our economic performance - about the dashboard

We have identified nine key aspects to assess our regional economy:

  • Population, household, labour force and land use
  • Macro economic indicators
  • Business vibrancy
  • Sector performance
  • Workforce diversity
  • Māori economy
  • Income and support
  • Productivity
  • Infrastructure
  • Resource use efficiency

The regional comparative dashboard includes analytical visuals against each of these aspects to track our economic performance. You can compare our regional performance over time with other regions and with the territorial authorities in the Waikato region.

Data from the year 2000 has been used in most of the criteria, and whenever data are available the SA2 level assessment is also enabled.

The dashboard will be updated whenever new data are available. The next update is anticipated to be July 2024, when the 2023 census data should be available.
