Abstract
The intention of this survey is to detail all of the impediments to fish passage that exist in the Whangarahi river system.
The survey aims to deliver a complete picture of the Whangarahi river system and its state of health, dealing with all relevant details including all tributaries large and small. Until the time of this study there had not been a complete survey of the river system describing the habitat and assessing it in relation to fish passage.
The survey also aims to inform landowners who own properties next to streams and rivers of the Whangarahi complex about what they can do to maximise the health of their local waterways.
