About this report

This report presents the results of an acoustic survey of avifauna species at 24 unprotected wetland sites on the Eastern Seaboard of the Coromandel Peninsula, in the late spring/summer of 2016.

The survey was carried out as part of Waikato Regional Council's Biodiversity Inventory Project. 

Threatened avifauna species were detected at 11 new sites, comprising of Australasian bittern (4), marsh crake (1) and North Island (NI) fernbird (13).
