It shapes our identity, culture and way of life. Many of us have fond memories of times we’ve spent in and around water. That’s why restoring water is our community’s number one priority.
At this time of year, we’re especially keen to know it’s safe for swimming, fishing and food gathering. But our passion for this taonga isn’t limited to summer – it’s about the seasons yet to come.
As kaitiaki, it’s our collective responsibility to care for water and at Waikato Regional Council we’re focusing on how best to do this. But we can’t do this work alone. Landowners, industry and communities are just as committed.
Everyone can do their bit when it comes to restoring and protecting our fresh water, so it can keep sustaining life for generations to come.
