Environment Waikato’s Regional Information Bank programme manager Jim McLeod has won the Association of Local Government Information Managers’ Leadership Excellence award.
The award recognises his achievements in continued development and leadership of a core team of eight analysts supporting more than 25 organisation-wide projects.
He has successfully advocated a consolidated Waikato Valuation Database Service for territorial authorities within the Waikato Region to 13 Chief Executives, established a Region-wide contact group to advocate broadband capability under Project PROBE in the Waikato, and delivered a complex rating system for the collection of Council funds.
He has also established a website team at Environment Waikato and a staff computer help desk.
The award was presented at the Association’s conference at Wairakei last week, and includes an IBM ‘Thinkpad’ computer.
