Happy Valley Milk Limited has lodged two applications with Waikato Regional Council for resource consents to take groundwater at 132 Ouruwhero Road, north of Otorohanga. The applications are not seeking to replace previously or currently authorised groundwater take activities. The groundwater will be used to supply the operation of a dairy factory to be developed at 5 Redlands Road, west of Otorohanga.
AUTH139891.03.01- Application 140434 was lodged 27 July 2018 and is seeking to take groundwater at a maximum rate of 5 litres per second, with maximum daily and maximum annual take volumes of 432 cubic metres and 131,400 cubic metres, respectively.
AUTH139891.04.01 - Application 140435 was lodged 24 September 2018 and is seeking to take groundwater at a maximum rate of 3 litres per second, with maximum daily and maximum annual take volumes of 259.2 cubic metres and 78,840 cubic metres, respectively.
Each application includes an assessment of environmental effects.
